Welcome to St John the Baptist Hove.

Church Re-Opening From 24th June

We will initially open on Wednesdays only, starting on Wed 24 June, from 10am to 12noon.  We will monitor the numbers attending, and make any further amendments once we have taken that into account, as well as any further changes to government or church guidance over time.

Please be clear that this will be very different from our normal Wednesday opening: it is not for visitors to the church, but for those wishing to engage in private, silent prayer and meditation.

Further details of the arrangements are at this link: please read them carefully to help you in deciding whether or not you choose the attend.

Parish Giving Scheme

Help us to help those who need it: We are heavily reliant on regular giving to support St John's work in the community. We need your support more than ever during this Corona Virus period when the building is closed for public worship but its work continues in the background.

Please consider becoming a regular donor by joining the Parish Giving Scheme.

Situated on the edge of the regency Palmeira Square, St John's was built between 1852 and 1854 and its landmark spire was added in 1870.

More recently, and in response to the growing needs of those who live around the Church, some of the building has been converted for community use. This has allowed the people of St John's to retain a beautiful and unique space in which to worship God.

As beautiful as our Church is it is more than just a building. St John's houses a growing congregation of all ages committed to seek and share Christ's love in our daily lives. We offer a warm welcome to all who wish to join us.
